How to make a newsprint 3D flower for a gift box made with the Stampin Up milk carton die

Hello there! As promised here is part two of the Botanical Birthday Butterflies set - this time a little gift box which housed a small (but expensive!) gift ...

But first - some exciting news!

Stampin Up! are refreshing their colour collections which means some of the colours are retiring and some will be new! Starting from 1st July 2013 to coincide with the new annual catalogue the following colour changes are taking place within the existing brights, subtles, regals & neutrals colour collections ..

There are 10 current colours that will be discontinued so if these are amongst your favourite SU colours then it would be wise to stock up now on cardstock, inks, refreshers, ribbons and embellishments in these colours - I know I will be as once they've gone, they've gone :( On the plus side, some of the older colours are returning including my favourites pool party, calypso coral, crushed curry & pear pizazz so am a happy stamper! There's also a gorgeous new silver grey making its debut so can't wait to be using that! Drop me a line at lisa.barton@hotmail.co.uk if you'd like some more information.

Anyway, back to todays project ..

The box was made by running the mini milk carton bigz L die (117310 £28.95) through the Big Shot with Elegant Eggplant cardstock (108614 £6.25) and then I used first edition speciality paper pack (121878 £11.50) again paired with the Fun Flowers bigz l die (121812 £28.95)

I sprayed the flowers with Vanilla shimmer Smooch Spritz (118772 £4.50 for 11ml) and then hand crumpled & layered them, fastening with dimesionals. I then sponged the edges with sponge daubers (102892 £9.95 for pack of 12) and elegant eggplant ink to tone the paper down and match it into the card
To finish, I tied some certainly celery taffeta ribbon around the carton then stamped in elegant eggplant with the Tiny Tags stamp set (wood 118091 £20.95, clear 118592 £16.95), still one of my favourites after a couple of years! The tags were punched with the matching jewellry tag punch which coordinates with and fits the stamps perfectly (117190 £11.50)

Then as a little fun extra I used a mini bulldog clip from my stash to keep the gift carton closed, although these Cute clips (129939 £4.50 for 8 of 3 designs = 24 total) from the Spring/Summer catalogue would do the job just nicely!
Dropping this little project into CCEE stampers - CCEE1314 Things with Wings, DR Designs #64 Paper Flowers, Happy Campers CC #14 Flower Power, Lexis creations # 87 Use punches & dies, UnstampaBelles Challenge #22 Anything but a card, Cupcake Inspirations #204.

That's all for today folks, don't forget if there is anything you would like to order from Stampin Up! just drop me an email to lisa.barton@hotmail.co.uk - you can pay via Paypal, cheque, cash or bank transfer and the goodies will be delivered directly to you for a small p&p charge. Until next time, happy stampin!
