How to make a book card

Today's project is one for the boys - they don't often get a look in here what with a team of 5 girls & 1 man in the house! However I do like to pay homage to them once in a while ;) so here you are ...

I've made a book style frame box for Dad for Fathers Day using Print Poetry & Comfort Cafe papers (I know it's not until June but it's crafters law that we create several months in advance ;) - here's a link to the tutorial I used - thanks Katherina!

Here's a side view so you can see the 'antiquated book' style ..

And here's the front with the lid folded down - took the photo before the Tombow dried clear - oops! Love the soda pop tops with a little paper and stamped heart covered in Crystal Effects to give a gloss and seal.

The lettering was made with retired alphabet dies (set of 4) which I currently have for sale - if you're interested in purchasing them just drop me an email at lisa.barton@hotmail.co.uk. I have the matching number dies for sale as well.

And a gift I hear you ask? A magnetic bookmark made from the top note die and Comfort Cafe designer series paper. An action shot, showing it nestling over a photograph in the current Paul Hollywood's Bread book.

And on it's own standing proud, the magnet is hidden inside!

Here are the papers used ..

And the lettering on the bookmark was made using the Letter It alphabet stamps on a folded in half Top Note die, stamped in Summer Starfruit and then embossed with clear embossing powder using the heat tool.

The book is my entry for these online challenges - As you like it - die cuts, Paper Playtime #9 - Embossing, Charizma Cards - shaped cards, Moving along with the times - one for the guys, My heart pieces - emboss, Delicious doodles #34 - one for the boys, Totally papercrafts #165 - shaped card, Dynamic Duos # 51 Yellow & Blue,  Digi Sketch - for the boys

Fathers Day here in the UK is on June 16th so I will be keeping this project under wraps until then :) See you tomorrow with a wedding idea - it is the season!
