10 easy & fun DIY Halloween craft ideas - #1 Vampire bat pegs

Flying by today with the day 1 of my 14 days of easy & fun Halloween crafts - perfect for crafters of any ability and age! Stay tuned for the next two weeks are we countdown to Halloween with some super simple projects that are quick, easy & inexpensive!

Day 1 of easy & fun DIY halloween crafts kicks off with some vampire bat washi tape pegs - I used them as decoration for my craft class product orders earlier this week - and they were much admired!

Simply take any old wooden peg you can find, cover it with washi tape - I've used the Witches Brew Stampin Up washi tape.  Then using the Stampin Up owl punch, punch out an owl body (no feet!) in black card and the larger circles for eyes in red card. Stick the eyes onto the body then the body onto the peg using dimensionals.

The wings were made by punching out a 2nd owl body without the feet and then drawing a line up the centre of the body and cutting from one edge to the middle line and back to the corner edge again in one long curve then affix to the body! Easy eh? You could even make a string of them for a batty banner or use them to decorate treats :)

Oh and btw, the bows are die cut using the Big Shot & the new Gift Bow die (which we'll be meeting officially nearer to Christmas if you can wait that long!) & Witches Brew designer series paper ;)

Join me again tomorrow for another easy, fun Halloween project!
