Quick & easy Minnie mouse punch art banner card using Stampin Up circle punches

A nice, quick and easy 10 minute card project for you today using Punch Art - translation : making characters with punched paper shapes. 

There are literally hundreds of characters you can make using Stampin Up punches - take a look at my punch art pinterest board for inspiration! 



This card features Minnie Mouse made from the 2.5" circle punch, the 1 3/4" circle punch & the 1" circle punch with a retired butterfly punch - or you could use the oval punch to make a bow as I demonstrated in this previous post. The new strawberry slush paper stack was perfect for Minnies bow!


I've used the modern label for the sentiment which is stamped in strawberry slush using the Sweetly Framed hostess set which is just £9 with an order of £150 - easy to do if you have a few friends ordering at the the same time - and remember with an order this size you'll also get £25 free products of your choice!


The little banners were made with more Strawberry Slush paper stack paper along with a little bling courtesy of the silver glimmer paper.

    Bag card & template using Stampin Up Epic Day

    The girls are back to school and it's an Epic Day as it is also my 3rd daughters first day at school! So now I have six hours to myself - hmm what shall I do - housekeeping or crafting? Whilst I'm pondering here's a little school related project today .. an Epic Day school bag!



    Based on the travel bag & tutorial I posted here last week this time I've used Epic Day papers - I like the geometric lines & maps on the paper - all school related. The little handle is made from the Duo ticket builder punch and secured with a little velcro and a candy dot. I wish I'd had time to stitch around the bag - but faux stitching can be created quite easily with a marker pen! 



    The little label is punched firstly from some pool party card with the scallop oval punch and then layered with some whisper white with crumb cake sponged edges punched with the small oval punch. The sentiments are all from the Lovely Little Labels set - one I often overlook but which has a great collection of teeny tiny images with coordinating punches perfect for this kind of small scale project.



    The clasp opens out to enable writing on the inside - we just need to decide what to write but it will probably be a little note for my daughter!

    How to glitter emboss Stampin Up Swallowtail Butterfly

    As we head further into September the butterflies will be soon disappearing so to capture their beauty I've created a blinged up glitter embossed butterfly as we won't be seeing them again for a while but with a nod to the glitter season that lies ahead ;)


    I've used Rich Razzleberry for my base card and stamped with a sentiment from the Sweetly Framed hostess set which has been heat embossed with white embossing powder using the heat tool. The butterfly is the Swallowtail stamp which I stamped in Versamark onto vellum and then covered with iridescent ice embossing powder, again set with the heat tool.



    Unfortunately the photos don't do the embossing detail justice but the effect is truly stunning and very pretty. Silver glimmer paper edges the card which has been scalloped using the scallop edge punch.

    Postcard poppies & pinterest

    Something's changing in the air - did you catch it too? The last vestige of summer is giving way to a more Autumnal feeling in the air - personally it's my favourite season so I'm a happy girl :)

    Here's a little tribute to the passing of summer... you can add your own words on the right hand side :)



    I've seen this type of repetitive stampin done a lot on Pinterest (here's a link to my boards if you have a Pinterest interest!) but never knew whether to consider it art or just a mess ;) What do you think?



    I've used Cherry Cobbler, Tangerine Tango & Daffodil Delight with Old Olive marker pens for the flowers - colours of Autumn.


    The postcard stamp is so versatile - can't wait to start stamping it in winter hues for christmas tags!

    Gorgeous Grunge also makes an appearance here, perfect for that little added texture & dimension to projects.

    DIY fabric, lace, burlap & ribbon flowers to makeover a photoframe using Stampin Up supplies

    Once upon a time I had a photo frame. It was glossy & black with some diamante stones. It was the trend about 5 years ago when our house was decorated in a minimalistic style. It somehow doesnt fit our home decor now which has evolved into more muted, classic shades with touches of chintz and ornateness. I did take a before shot of the frame but cannot find it now - modern technology eh!

    This is the colour scheme for our bedroom..

    Here's my finished frame ...


    Using baked brown sugar in colour paper stack I cut strips to fit round the frame and then sponged the edges in coordinating Baked Brown sugar ink to give a more aged look. Where the paper strips meet will be the focal point for my embellishments.



    Using some scraps of the new Burlap trim, natural trim & artisan embellishments vintage lace I made some flowers by handrolling them over some hot glue on a silicone sheet, knotting the end to start with then tucking the ends underneath. Basic pearls hide the centre of the flowers. 



    These flowers use Burlap trim again with natural cotton ribbon & baked brown sugar ruffle ribbon.


    More burlap trim & cotton trim ribbon.



    And lastly two elegant butterflies punch with the stamp of the same name :)

    It's Friday again - woo hoo! Following on from Rosas birthday it's now our niece Charlotte's birthday too! Here's her cute creation ...

    As she's only 7 then Minnie Mouse is more the order of the day wrapping paper wise, the rosette is made in the same way as Rosa's on yesterdays post ...
