Build a cupcake & hexagons!

Woo-hoo readers, it's nearly the weekend again and today is Midsummer Eve - the longest day in the Northern Hemisphere! As that feels worth celebrating then here's a little cutie for you - hope you have a sweet tooth!

I've used the new In Colour Crisp Cantaloupe for my base card then used the large 2.5" circle punch to create the window in the card.

I then stamped the Create a cupcake stamp set into the circle using another new In Colours Baked Brown Sugar and Strawberry Slush - just the colours makes my tastebuds tingle ;)

I used my paper piercing kit to edge the circle - the templates make piercing exact shapes so easy! A calypso coral bakers twine bow completed the look.

The hexagons were taken from the Epic Day designer series papers - part of the new Annual Catalogue available in just 10 days now (order yours from me by emailing lisa.barton@hotmail.co.uk)! The sentiment is from Create a Cupcake and the label is the Decorative Label (120907 £15.50)

Do you see the new little flower? It's made by moulding some of the new Stampin Up Simply Pressed Clay which are used with the new Buttons & Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Molds. The clay can be pressed into the silicone moulds, air dry & then coloured with ink refillers, markers, embossing powders and glitters! Wow! The clay can even be stamped on for even more unique images :)

Popping into challenges at Allsorts #211 - time for tea, Sketch Saturday, Less is More - hexagons, Sweet stampin - something sweet, The ribbon girl - pink.

See you again tomorrow for another Crisp Cantaloupe creation!

Gingham garden best of flowers rose bouquet

Isn't this pretty? Very pretty vintage styling....

My card today shows another of the Best of Flowers set - this time a trailing rose bouquet - I've coloured this one in with Stampin Write markers in melon mambo, so saffron and calypso coral - all  cheerful & bright spring/summer colours.

I love these new designer series Gingham Garden papers, they're from the new catalogue coming out on 2nd July (email me at lisa.barton@hotmail.co.uk for your copy) and remind me of countryside picnics, hedgerows and eating al fresco (not in the hedgerows though!)

The base card is So Saffron and the ribbon is Raspberry ripple Stitched Satin (126845 £7.95 for 9.1m). Think this stamp would also look fab in more vintage colours such as crumb cake, pink pirouette and Bashful Blue - watch this space!

Just 10 days to go now until the new catalogue launches and you can get your hands on these gorgeous goodies including the 5 new In Colours and the 9 new & returning collection colours!

Here's a reminder of all the lovely new colours coming our way ...

Stampin Up! Best of 25 years - Best of flowers stamp set tour

Welcome to another week!

This week I'm going to be showcasing the wonderful Best of 25 years sets that Stampin Up recently released - here's some more information from a few days ago...

Here's the gorgeous hydrangea flower resplendant in Wisteria Wonder & Lucky Limeade, having been coloured in with Stampin Write markers. The base is crumbcake cardstock with Naturals Ivory for the flower background. I love this cardstock as it is a lovely off cream colour with tiny speckles which gives it an expensive, unique look. The ripped & distressed corner is sponged in wisteria wonder ink.

Here's a closer look at the naturals ivory card - can you see the speckles?

The card is framed with slivers of wisteria wonder and lucky limeade card. The little brad is one of the retiring designer printed brads (122940 £7.25 for 40 mixed colours). The Naturals Ivory card has been punched with the scallop edge punch to finish.

I've paper pierced the edges with the paper piercing tool (126189 £3.50) and pack (126187 £7.25 for 3 templates).

The little handmade flowers in Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade were punched with a scallop circle punch and then cut into spirals and rolled. The sentiment is from, yes you've guessed it, Bring on the Cake (w 121899 £34.95, c 121958 £27.95)

Lucky limeade will be retiring in a few weeks so if you want to grab this colour before it fades order from me today!

The best of flowers set has 4 lovely flower stamps in it for just £13.95 - it's only around until October or whilst stocks last - order yours today!

133342 Best of Flowers £13.95

Check out the retiring lists on the left hand bar to see what's left - once they've gone, they've gone!

Challenges for this card are Ladybug crafts - colour wheel (purple & green), Crafty creations #226 - sketch, Fab n funky #175 - birthday, Daring cardmakers - flower festival. Craft Room challenge - here comes summer.

Come back and see us again tomorrow for another stamp from the Best of Flowers set :)

Washi tape fathers day

Happy Fathers Day! Wishing all the dad out there (including my own and my daughters) a wonderfully spoilt day :)

Here's my card for my father ...

Plain and simple - that's what dads like (isn't it?!!)

I've used chocolate chip cardstock as my base layer overlaid with sahara sand. The washi tape is courtesy of the Epic Day range (131269 £4.50 for 4.6m of 3 designs) The splattering effect was made by using the soon to be retiring colour spritzer tool (107066 £10.95)- this tool has been invaluable to add "splatters & spatters)" as I like to call them to add interest and depth to projects.

The Dad has been stamped in calypso coral ink using the Simply Serif  Mini Alphabet stamps (wood mount only 126360 £18.95) punched using one of the Little Labels punches (126881 £15.50). The sentiment is from Bring on the Cake (w 121899 £34.95, c 121958 £27.95) - a must have, go to stamp set to cover all celebrations!

The cute little clip is from the new 200+ page annual catalogue due out on 2nd July - watch this space for more sneak peeks next week!

Here's the inside ..

Loving the washi tape!

Hope you all have a wonderful day, back tomorrow with the start of the Best of 25 years Flowers stamps tour!

Clubs & classes Polka dot presents

Hello again - another week is nearly over! My monthly craft classes and clubs are in full swing again in North Oxfordshire's Bloxham, Adderbury, Bodicote, Kings Sutton & Hook Norton and each month I have a few little gifts for those who attend ...

This month the little gift bags were full up to the brim with paper samples, buttons, brads, ribbons, card toppers plus a few of my own hand made cards for ideas and inspiration.

The little bags were made from one sheet of 12" x 12" Polka Parade and Tea for Two designer series papers with banner tags made cut from Patio Party, Fan Fair all of which will be retiring at the end of the month and a snippet of already retired Perfectly Preserved papers. I used up the last of my Paper Doilies (129399 £2.75 for 24) which are retiring at the end of June or whilst stocks last!

The sentiment is stamped in Calypso Coral ink using the Bring on the Cake stamp set (w 121899 £34.95, c 121958 £27.95) and the little bags are finished with a button tied with calypso coral bakers twine (125573 £2.50 for 22.9m).

If you'd like to join us for future classes and clubs - take a look here or get in touch with me at lisa.barton@hotmail.co.uk! Likewise, if you'd like to buy any of the featured products before they sell out then please do get in touch!
