Autumn inspired home decor & craft projects week - Day 5 Truly Grateful photo box & clips & lots of free box templates!

Are you enjoying my Autumn inspired features this week? I love decorating my home with projects I've made and all the better if I can combine them with mementos of the girls :)

This little box makes a fabulous gift for someone (or even just for yourself!) and is really simple to make :) Take a look at this fabulous website - you simply put the dimensions of the box you would like to make or the item you'd like to make a box for and hey presto it gives you the cutting template pattern to use! http://www.ideogram.nl/boxmaker/

I've used soft suede card for my box and covered it with Sweater Weather paper - love those yellow and blue shades in case you hadn't noticed!! The cute little bird is punched using the bird builder punch and the little sunflowers are from the Boho Blossoms punch.

The tag was cut using one of the Labels Collection framelits in Naturals Ivory and then stamped it with stamps from Everything Eleanor & Truly Grateful with a touch of Gorgeous Grunge for good measure!

The little clips are just boring paperclips covered with Sweater Weather paper to coordinate :) And of course the girls are handmade by moi as well :)

So if you're looking for a quick, easy & inexpensive gift this Christmas feel free to copy - I don't mind at all!!

Day 6 tomorrow brings table setting placecards for Fall feasts, until then have a great day!

Autumn inspired home decor & craft projects week - Day 4 Paper acorns & leaves

A little paper acorn for you to enjoy today ...

I used Cajun Craze card for the bottom of the acorn and Sweater Weather paper for the cap, complete with Autumn Accents leaves which I've curled, sponged and veined. The feathers are from Fine Feathers set stamped in Crushed Curry and the flower is made from rolled taffeta ribbon (if you'd like to know how to make them then click here for my video tutorial). I followed the fabulous template created by Papercrafters Sampler.

The acorn is 3D and stands proud in the Autumn inspired decor display I am busily accumulating - photos to follow soon!

Day 5 tomorrow features a lovely gratitude photo box - perfect to display all those lovely Autumn images :) See you then!

Autumn inspired home decor & crafts projects week - Day 3 DIY tissue stamped decorated candles & vase makeover video tutorial

Day 3 of my Autumn home projects week - and some more candles and a vase for you to have a go at creating yourself!

Here's my inspiration from a photograph by Dave Walker on Flickr

Love all those glorious colours! The candles I've used for this project were very inexpensive from Ikea and are perfect for a makeover by embossing stamped images onto them.

Here's how if you'd like to give it a go! Just click on the photo to play (goodness knows where that big grey box has come from!!) ....

The vase had an engraved logo on it which wasn't really to my taste so burlap to the rescue! A band of burlap, a tea doily, crochet trim, antique brad & some sweater weather banners, a candle decorated to match and bye bye ugly engraving!

I've used Truly Grateful, Everything Eleanor and Simply Sketched stamps, coloured with Stampin markers with chevron & burlap ribbons to embellish.

Please pop by tomorrow for Day 4 and a cute paper acorn!

Autumn inspired home decor & craft projects week - Day 2 Autumn candle and table setting inspiration

Day 2 of my Autumn inspired home decor feature week - Autumn is my favourite season - do you have one?

Taking a look at table decor today ... here's my inspiration from Maegan Tintari on Flickr..

Just look at that food on the plates - is it cakes? Or pies?

I came across some unloved candles stashed away and decided they needed a makeover and brought back to glory!

I've wrapped the candle with Early Espresso card which was embossed with the woodgrain folder to make it look like tree bark, then gave it a once over with the Sanding system to distress it a little. Some champagne glimmer paper (I adore this paper!) wrapped around the top and bottom and then a burlap belly band.

Autumn Accents die was used to cut the leaves from sweater weather paper which were then curled using my bone folder to give some movement and shape. The feather is from one of my favourite sets - Fine Feathers - and the acorn is from one of the new Autumn/Winter sets - Truly Grateful.

And lastly more Victoria crochet trim and a Baked Brown sugar boutique button - first time I've used one of these! The candle will be taking it's place at our Autumn family dinner next weekend . I challenge you to find some ordinary household items that could do with a makeover to pretty them up  - and would love it if you would leave me a comment so I can see your handiwork!

More candle fun tomorrow and a video tutorial! Until then ..

Autumn inspired home decor & craft projects week - Day 1 Everything Eleanor mini canvas gift

Is it Autumn now?

25 Things To Enjoy This October

Love this old storybook page from Tania Covo - says it all really! This weekend in Oxfordshire heralded some beautiful weather and scenery; the girls went foraging for conkers and leaves for our Autumn home display (photos to follow at end of the week!) but there wasn't much around yet! Maybe next weekend...

Anyway onto today's project ...
.

Whether Autumn is officially here or not my mind has turned to Autumn colours and themes so to kick start the week I've made a little canvas in the glorious colours of soft sky, crushed curry & soft suede - even the names sound Autumnal! I'll be featuring lots of lovely home decoration projects this week to inspire you!

I bought  pack of 4 mini canvases for £1, they measure approx 4" x 4" so perfect for little gifts :) I used Everything Eleanor, a timeless and classic stamp set (and I love it even more as my youngest daughter has the same name!). I randomly stamped images onto the canvas for a layered look and made a rosette with my scoring tool using Sweater Weather paper embellished with some basic pearls.

And to finish off my all time favourite ribbon - Victoria crochet thread and some gorgeous Autumnal burlap :) Would you be happy to receive a gift like this?

See you tomorrow with another Autumn inspired project; here's something pretty for you in the meantime ...

Do you stamp on the inside of cards?

Flying by today with a question for you - do you stamp on the inside of cards? I didn't used to but I do now - it's great to replicate the design on the inside and give the recipient that little extra attention to detail. However, on this card I didn't replicate the front - I stamped a slightly different design inside ...

Can you work out which of my previous projects this was the inside to?

Did you guess correctly?

I've used Clockworks for my inside stamping combined with Fine Feathers which also feature on the front of the card - love these sets for vintage styling :)

So maybe if you didn't stamp on the inside of cards you'll give it a go!

Join me tomorrow for a whole week of Autumn inspired home decor & crafts projects, have a great day!

Congratulations card using Stampin Up Feel Goods, Simply Stars & Sweater Weather

Today's card is for my close friend Victoria as a congratulations on your new job card!

Simply Stars seemed appropriate but I wanted to soften the card and make it girly too :) That's when the tea lace doilies got involved paired with the gorgeous yellow & pale blue shades of Sweater Weather designer series paper. I wanted the design to look like a badge of honour - what do you think?

More stars inside with a sentiment from Sketched Birthday - a really useful little stamp set to own!

I like the 3D effect of this card front :)
