How to make owl party invitations - free template

Welcome back! Today I am showing you how to make a cute owl party invitation using Stampin Up punches & supplies - come & see!

Aren't they just cute? They are for my eldest daughters 11th birthday celebrations in a couple of weeks time :)

To make your own owl invitations or cards,you can use Stampin Up chocolate chip cardstock and the template I found on the web here for the owls body & wings. The eyes are made from Stampin Up circle punches - 1" & 3/4" punches and the beak from the smaller of the triangles in the Stampin Up Petite Pennants punch. 

The feather frills over the body are made by cutting 1" wide strips of paper using the Stampin trimmer and then the scallop edge punch with the new in colour paper stash colours of Crisp Cantaloupe, Strawberry Slush & Pistachio Pudding and then glued overlapping each other. The sentiment is from the Sketched birthday stamp set and has a dimensional on it and is clasped between the wings.

Stampin Up flower shop stamps, pansy punch & distressed newsprint

Stampin Up's flower shop stamps are a lovely reminder of our recent fantastic summer here in the UK, but today I've given them an Autumnal colour spin in keeping with the darker nights drawing in now.

The base layer is the lovely Naturals Ivory card with an overlay of newsprint paper from the Modern Medley designer series paper packs - I've distressed this layer by tearing the edges and sponge daubling them with Soft Suede ink and then rolling the corners over for some extra dimension and to reveal the sentiment underneath which is from the lovely Hostess Reward set (only £9 with either individual or group orders over £150!)

The flowers have dimensionals underneath them for that little extra lift and the cute ribbon is one of the new colours - Blushing Bride - stitched ribbon.

The flowers designs are all lovely - but which would be your favourite if you had to choose? Mine would be the anemone looking one seen above in the foreground I think :) And to make life just that little bit easier, as to be expected Stampin Up have a coordinating Pansy Punch which fits perfectly around each flower for a precise shape!

Stampin Up Sweater weather paper & Flower shop stamps

Sweater weather! I love that name :) Sums up the Autumn season just perfectly for me - time to clear out the summer attire and swap it for cosy, warm knits, scarves, UGG boots and beloved tights :) Do you have a favourite clothing season? 

Using some of my favourite warm autumnal colours my card today shows off the gorgeous Flower shop stamp set - 6 delectable flowers to suit all design tastes. I've used the anenome looking ones for this project and have just stamped them in Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango & Crumb Cake as I think the detail on the stamps is enough for my card as opposed to colouring them in as well. 

I've also used the coordinating new Pansy punch to quickly and easily punch the flowers out rather than hand cutting them - fab idea!

The background card is chocolate chip, the second layer so saffron and the top layer is Naturals Ivory which has been embossed using the Pretty Print textured embossing folder. I've hand cut some Sweater Weather banners and then dimensioned my flowers on top adding a leaf stalk stamped in chocolate chip ink from the Simply silhouettes stamp set.

Stampin Up Wetlands & fine feathers stamps

Today is the last of my series showing the versatility of the wetlands stamp set and I think this is my favourite card ... 

Once again very simplistic and only two colours required - the detail in the designs of both the Wetlands & the Fine Feathers stamps sets speak for themselves. 

I've likened the feather to a branch and nested the ducks upon it, selecting the ones I wanted to use by using a marker to colour them rather than an ink pad :) The frayed burlap is from the new seasonal catalogue and adds that extra piece of texture/dimension. A crumb cake candy dot finishes the card.

How to distress cardstock using Stampin Up sanding block with wetlands stamps

Another CAS (clean & simple) idea using the Wetlands stamp set for you today - can you see what's hiding in the bullrushes?

I know that the little ducks stamp in the Wetlands set is not intended to be the Canada goose babies - but I did think they looked cute huddling around her feet as she leads them out of the safety of the rushes into the water :) I just highlighted the ones I wanted - Stampin Up write markers available in sets or singly are wonderful for enabling that!

I've used Always Artichoke as my core'dinations cardstock this time and have sanded it quite a lot with the Stampin Up sanding block to get this grainy aged effect - love this card!

The more I use this stamp set the more simple it appears in its beauty - it doesn't need a lot of embellishment as the detail on the stamps is stunning. Although of course as true bling queen  I couldn't resist adding a little linen thread & an antique brad to the ensemble ;)

Stampin Up Wetlands card in Autumn colours

We paid a visit last weekend to Daventry Country park in Northamptonshire which has been awarded Natural Englands Country Park accreditation and features a reservoir, plenty of wild & shore life plus some great adventure playground facilities for the children. On the return home I was inspired to capture our sights of the day using the fabulous Wetlands stamps set which I will be featuring over the next few days - let's take a look ...

I know ducks don't come in yellow & red ;) but I wanted to convey Autumn is on its way :)

The background cardstock is Cherry Cobbler core'dinations which is the best for distressing, sanding, tearing and adding texture to projects - I've sanded it over the top of a sheet of Candy Dots that happened to be on my desk and guess what - the dots sanded through - can you see on the bottom of the card? I also sanded around the edges of the natural ivorys cardstock - I love this card for its weathered old feel & the little speckles within it always add another dimension to the look of the card :)

And since the candy dots were so instrumental to the design of this card it's only fair to include them on it in Cherry Cobbler & Daffodil Delight!
