How to make a bow using oval punches

Well here we again, it's Friday!!! Last weekend darling daughter #3 went to a little friends party and I had totally, totally forgotten about a card!! How aful is that especially as I create day in, day out!!

Well I had this little box to hand sitting on the shelf looking lonely as it was made in retiring papers and an idea grabbed me ... a card in a box with a bow!

Here's the 3 piece together, the box was made out of Patio Party designer series paper (now retired) following a tutorial on Pinterest, there are hundreds of them around if you Google them.

The bow made made from a long strip of paper with tails cut both ends, then 2 ovals punched with an oval punch (119855 £14.25), folded in half and stuck down onto the centre of the strip of paper with a button in the middle to pull the ensemble together.

The little card was cut in Whisper White and then stamped with an image from Bring on the Cake (w 128490 £34.95, c 129958 £27.95) - each part of the stamp was coloured differently with Stampin Write markers in Primrose Petals, So Saffron & Melon Mambo. I love all those little candles!  A strip of Gingham Garden Washi tape (129314 £4.50 3 rolls) and some room for daughter #3 to write her name and the little card was finished!

And here's the matching tag using my Washi tape as ribbon technique and held together with a subtles brad. The cardstock is Primrose Petals overlaid with whisper white and stamped again with Bring on the Cake stamp set. In case you're getting a bit fed up with this sentiments set I do have some of the new sets on order  - watch this space for newbies coming your way soon!

Bring on the Cake

Popping back tomorrow with a royal theme - especially as speculation is rife that the new Royal baby may be born this week!

Pistachio pudding birthday aperture card & how to make 3D flowers

Just a quick update from me today, school is gearing up for end of term and with another one of my girls starting in September it's all go go go!

Here's todays offering, hope you likey!

I used the Shimmery White cardstock (121717 £7.25 for 10 sheets) which has a gorgeous pearlescent glitter shimmer to it and then punched with the Blossom punch (125603 £15.50). On a second piece of shimmery white card I stamped with the Happy Day doily stamp in Pistachio Pudding (am loving this new pale mint green colour 131177 £4.95) overlaying the images.

Some tiny pearls were affixed to the open parts of the doily to add interest. I then punched a few more Blossom shapes out of the Shimmery white card and the Pistachio pudding card and then split the layers, spritzed with water and then scrumpled up to make the layered flower. A sentiment from the Bring on the Cake set stamped in matching ink and the card was complete :)

Hope to see you again tomorrow for a kiddies birthday combo - have a great day!

Chalkboard technique tutorial for thank you teacher tags & new Washi tape ribbon technique!

Last week I was discussing end of term thank you gifts for the girls school & nursery teachers.. here's another idea using the popular chalkboard technique... and a new technique I "think" I may have invented .. Washi tape ribbon! Let's take a look ..

The background card is the new In colour Pistachio pudding - a gorgeous pale pale almost minty green - very refreshing! I've cut the edge of it using one of the labels framelits through the big shot.

The tag was made with basic black cardstock and hand cut to shape. I stamped images from the Oh Hello stamp set in white Kraft ink and then used my embossing buddy which is full of powder and smudged it around over the black card to give it a rubbed off chalk look! So simple!

I also lightly sponged some more white kraft ink around the edges of the tag to add to the effect.

Isn't the new Gingham Garden washi tape just gorgeous? I've taped it across my card for a splash of fun flowery colour as well as turned some tape into ribbon to string the tag - I haven't seen this done before - have you?

Yesterday was a big day with the launch of the new annual catalogue - if you'd like a FREE copy for this week only please get in touch with me at lisa.barton@hotmail.co.uk!

Water colour technique using Happy Day & Best of Flowers

It's July! And along with a new month yesterday we said goodbye to the Stampin Up Spring/Summer Catalogue but tomorrow we will be saying hello to the brand new 2013-14 Annual Catalogue!

All round it's an exciting and a happy day!

After yesterdays bright and rousing colours I've chosen pastels for a softer start to the week! I've used pink pirouette cardstock overlaid with so saffron and then with a piece of whisper white. The background inks are lucky limeade, so saffron and pink pirouette sprayed with water before stamping with an acrylic block.

The hydrangea is from the Best of Flowers Set - look out for another new "Best Of.." set for July!

The cute clip is from the new Essentials Hardware clips, a selection of lots of lovely clips in 3 different designs. The clip sits on some linen thread twine. You can see the paper piercing that surrounds the card using the templates in the paper piercing pack.
